Another great montage, Clint. The surprise element was "turning the tables" on the photographers. My favorite though, was the hilarious picture of the lone female photographer with the pigeons staring at her camera.
Of course, how stupid of me. I guess from the angle that he had his head and my focus on the pigeons, I thought Delon was a female. And now, having a second look at the picture, one of the birds wasn't even a pigeon, it was a crow!
Most enjoyable. Not so many guys in this one photo'd by muscle studios wearing "g" strings holding swords, foils, epees very awkwardly. I know the photos aren't about swords, etc., and the men are quite often jaw-droppingly lovely--but the awkwardness is distracting a bit: I went in for a year of fencing in h.s. but quit because I wasn't fast enough. Rathbone and Fairbanks handled theirs better than most here, but then, I'm sure the studios trained them in stage swordplay. Which ain't the same as the real thing at all.
Iโve always been amused by the โswordplayโ photos. Dunno why. Maybe because they thought it helped them look more like โclassic art" which was a cover for the erotica/porn labels.
I go through phases of images I like. The pendulum is swinging back to candid snapshots and more personable portraits. Always changing though. lol
When I see photos like this I think of how risky it was for those guys to have posed for them to begin with. In todayโs world you could probably get away with doing an online order from like Walgreens for a print of a nude but back then someone looked at every single photo and scandalous news didnโt need the internet to spread like wildfire. I hope young people realize that their paved road was paid for by someone else.
I wonโt hold my breath. Every generation does its best to forget what happened before they existed and pretend they did it all themselves. I know I did. :-)
I just want to check out a couple of those old edifices in the background to see if my grandmother is inside. Then I'll check out the man in the foreground.
Hey Clint another fine montage of manly men. ERIC PEDERSON again, he's some mighty fine sturdy legs and glutes, ๐ฅ๐ฅ Cutie No4 your swim times over @ 5:02 so reminds me of being a kid at the town public pool, you only got 45 mins then out so next batch could get in ๐ The usual communal change room (M, F)separate rooms, clothes in a basket passed to the attendant, then onto pool side to await the whistle blowing to change swimming groups. All the horseplay of kids getting in/out, the attendants trying to keep order ๐ pinched swimmers/undies/towels. All juvenile fun when your that age. I'm rambling again I better go ๐ฎ Cheers DougT ๐ซ๐ด

Thanks, David. Turns out the โfemaleโ photographer was French actor Alain Delon (who recently passed). Hereโs a link to the image if youโre curious: https://www.reddit.com/r/OldSchoolCool/comments/dtv3ga/alain_delon_photographs_a_bird_in_venice_1962/. There are many stories within some of these photos. Wish I could out even more. Cheers!

Happens to me all the time. Delon was also one of the prettiest men of the 20th Century in my book. Crow? I didnโt notice it either! lol

Pretty sure that's young Ronnie Reagan (during his Warner Bros contract player days) hiding behind the camera at 7:18.
Love these collections, Clint.
WOW! Youโre good. Now that you mention Ronnie, I donโt know how I didnโt see it before. Thanks.
Another beautiful collection - - I always look forward to these videos - thank you so much for your dedication to putting these together and sharing!!
Thanks, Scottie. They are definitely labors of love. Appreciate the encouragement and support.

Hopefully your grandmother likes the man in the foreground too. :-)
