The Blood Bank image, was of it's day but here in 🇬🇧 we suffered greatly from infected imported blood products, primarily from 'paid donations' To this day there are still hearings and tribunals over infected blood from way back. I remember a few years of weirdness around blood donations (and I believe “active” gay/bi guys are still discouraged from donating), but can’t recall anything involving hearings. We Americans have fairly short attention spans, so like most bs, it was mostly forgotten and the mistakes were left to be repeated. :-/
