An off the track note, Clint. Having moved from Microsoft to Mac, I am feeling my age learning. Thank you kindly. I think that my notifications and stuff are okay now. As for Mac - I suspect that it does things for me, as if I were a child with learning difficulties. My experience with computers started with mainframes, Commodores and the like and programming the beasts myself. Latterly, using Microsoft. My habits have become concretised. "Grandfather, it will look after you." is what I was told in the shop. I got irritated by the way the staff just did things in setting it up but didn't tell me what they were doing. I resented being treated like a baby.
I cause problems by accident for myself in using the Mac by simply doing what have done for 30 or more years.
My biggest so far was learning to recharge the keyboard and mouse - or rather failing to do so. And on this keyboard is a key that changes my language to Thai from English. I must have pressed it when inserting the charging cable or removing to put in my mouse. I spent an entire day unable to communicate or type anything. I can speak Thai but I do not read it. The light dawned eventually and I looked for the said language key and found it within seconds.
It is not really the Mac's fault. My frustration is that, as a doctor and professor, I have been expected to know everything and know I feel like a kindergartener.
As for video chats - it would be nice if we could find a mutually convenient time frame to "Shoot the breeze" - think that is the US term.
