A New Mailing Address Makes Me Feel "2 Legit 2 Quit"

Several kind souls have offered to mail me vintage photos—some as donations, some on loan. The only snag? I work from home and don’t think it’s wise to use that address.

I don’t send nearly as much mail as I used to, but it’s always a joy to receive it. I have known for a while that I’d eventually need to rent a mailbox. Yesterday was that day. Which also means I can stop using Substack’s mailing address to send my newsletter. About damn time, huh?

There’s something surprisingly satisfying about having a real grown-up mailing address for my business. Like I’ve leveled up. A place where art and ephemera can be sent without me worrying about my personal and professional worlds colliding.

Honestly, the new address makes me feel a little official. Cue MC Hammer and his classic “2 Legit 2 Quit.” And DANCE! (if you like/want to).

It might seem like a small step, but for me it feels like planting a flag. Proof that this thing I’m doing isn’t just a quirky side project—it’s something I’m willing to build piece by piece. And now, thanks to one brass mailbox key, I can answer without hesitation when someone asks, “Where should I send it?”
