I laughed with delight at this newsletter. Maybe you could decide on a more regular (more frequent?) massage. Frequent massage doesn't leave you with the achey after-effects the next day.
I trained in massage in 1976 and taught massage to friends and others. I have rarely accepted clients for private psychological therapy but when agreeing to some of that I have occasionally included massage, as many problems are stored in the body. When I led encounter groups, I sometimes included massage when providing groups for men. Yes, primal. Yes, deeply significant. Useful between lovers, if they both are masseurs/masseuses.
I think I’ve decided to spend the money I was going to spend on a co-working space on massages instead. Hopefully, my masseur is open to taking on a new regular client. He’s a busy guy! As for massage training, I haven’t had any, but I love giving massages to those I care about. Cheers!
It is not my place to approve but I think it may be a good idea for you to have regular massages. Massage training improves the quality of your massages and can help a person to deal with some physical problems. Anyone can massage without training.
Touch is more important than many people realise, possibly more for men than women. Men may never touch or be touched much, outside or erotic intimacy.
Ohh err Matron, I've never had a massage for pleasure...but I've given lotssss. I've had a few body/therapy physiotherapist visits via the NHS clinics this last couple of years for my dodgy back and lower spine issues. I strongly remember one particular 'pleasurable' time that just involved a tub of Greek Yoghurt and fresh soft fruit, it was a truly Smorgasbord licking and eating off each other, goddamit 😝😎 that's all I'm prepared to own up to. Cheers DougT 🏴🇬🇧
You’re a caution, Doug! Don’t change a thing. But I do recommend letting yourself get more massages. I’m still sore, but not complaining. More massage (for me) to come!
Clint, I am fortunate in that I get an hour massage every week. My therapist, (asy on the eyes but a woman) and I have been working together for close to 20 years. And yes often during a massage, complete converssations take place without a word. Glad you are taking care of yourself. Fondly, Michael
A weekly massage?! I like the way you roll, Mr. Horvich! I’m gonna figure out how to afford one every other week (if my new masseur is willing to take on a new regular client). Fingers crossed!

Hope you can arrange it. I know it has made a world of difference to me.
