When it comes to my Palm Springs Labor Day adventures, the third time really was the charm.
By 2016, what started as a spontaneous “just say yes” getaway had blossomed into a yearly tradition I eagerly anticipated.
I knew the lay of the land by then—the lazy poolside rhythms, the cast of familiar faces, and the way the desert seemed to hum with endless possibility…and just enough pre-dicked-ability to keep things interesting. Emphasis on the dick. 😉
That third Labor Day weekend at Bearfoot Inn was all about savoring every moment: the blazing heat that made each plunge into the pool feel like a baptism, the laughter that lingered long into the night, the effortless connections with old and new friends alike, and the little indulgences and luxuries that turned the weekend into a perfect, sun-soaked escape.
More than anything, it was about pausing long enough to feel truly grateful—grateful that life had delivered me to this blazing-hot, midcentury-modern oasis and gifted me a weekend overflowing with laughter, connection, and joy.
Three years. Three weekends. A lifetime’s worth of memories.
Not bad for saying “yes” to one casual invitation…
Keep calm and sunscreen on!
Clint 🌈✌️
P.S. While I returned to Bearfoot Inn several times after 2016, my last visit was in early 2021. COVID had taken its toll on the business, and ultimately the owners sold and moved out of the area. Labor Day Weekend and Palm Springs will never feel quite the same to me, but I’m so glad I had those times.
P.P.S. I hope you have some great memories too, boo!

PORTRAIT + QUOTE OF THE DAY
“You learn to draw from your own life experiences and allow that to serve you as you play a character. It encourages you to be daring, fresh, not repetitive, and it draws you away from imitating. The end result is that your work is honest and believable because you're connected to what you're doing.”
George Maharis

There’s something magical about how one casual “yes” can ripple into a whole tradition. Feels like Palm Springs gave you not just weekends of fun but a reminder of how joy multiplies when we let ourselves be fully in it 🌴✨
Thanks Clint 🌈and George Maharis 🌈 and Happy Birthday Scott Speed Man 👀
