Once upon a time—way back in 2014—a newish friend invited me to join him for Labor Day weekend in Palm Springs. He had a suite at the Bearfoot Inn, a clothing-optional spot where the sun was hot, the pool was cool, and the vibe was all about letting go.
Now, I’m not exactly a nudist. But as the son of a nudist dad, I guess you could say the fruits and nuts didn’t fall too far from the (bare) tree. While I don’t “need” to be nude, I don’t mind dropping trou—especially in an atmosphere where everyone’ there to have fun and let it all hang out.
That first year was all about discovery. I met some incredible guys, traded more than a few flirty glances, and laughed until the hot desert air turned cold.
There were late-night pool dips; endless beverages, cocktails, and snacks; and a few flirtations that turned into some lovely encounters.
Mostly, though, I soaked up the kind of joy that only comes from saying yes to something a little out of my comfort zone—and realizing it feels a lot like home.
To be continued…

Like you Clint I don't identify as a nudist/naturist but I certainly do enjoy dropping out my pants/Speedos/swimmers anytime it's appropriate 😁 Of course naturism is probably more wildly acceptable in the EU and even in the UK it's not illegal BUT heavily frowned upon unless your in appropriate places. Most 🌈 centered holiday destinations have naturist/cruising areas close by 😎 but are even more open in the European areas. I can remember as a young boy my dad was more keen to go to a family 'Sun Club' near to a town called Harrogate but my mum wasn't having any of it, (dad was ex Royal Navy and had spent time in the Allies area of the Pacific and West Coast 🇺🇸) so had seen more 'life' than my mum 😮 Of course being a boy it didn't have any connotations other than taking your clothes off which was normal at changing for bed in front of the open fire and putting your PJ's on(in winter). It was before Central Heating was a normal in UK and far too cold to be running around nuddy getting your PJ's on 😎 Life back then was a far more simpler thing......sigh....enough now of giving secrets away 😲 but, like you I'm sure, we have those secrets we pick up along the way and store away but remember fondly(?) Cheers DougT 🇫🇴🇬🇧
Thanks Clint 🌈🏳🌈 Happy Birthday Warren Buffett, still alive, while Jimmy Buffett is still dead. ☹ Happy Labor Day Weekend to all ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤
