Oh, Clint, what a disappointment for you. A minor setback, really. I wish had I known you were wetting your split lip. Having high school background in biological sciences, being a nurse during university vacations, working in hospitals, teaching in medical schools, all my adult life, I didn't need to be told that my multiple flesh wounds incurred on 23rd July should be dry. I "washed" my pits and crotch with a damp cloth but had my first shower only 18 hours ago. You were let down by poor inadequate information when you were sutured. Have several hugs and kisses from me. I love you, boo.
I love you too, boo. And that minor setback is officially a thing of the past. Got the sutures out yesterday and I’m beyond thrilled to be almost back to normal. Hope you’re feeling much better and your visit is going great!
First, glad to know that this is behind and you are now in your new place. I am healing well and have only tender bruises to contend with if something presses on them. My time with my sister and bro in law - mainly focused on the initial stages of repairing. They were very materially supportive and caring. I felt loved but treated a little like a child. I left my week with my ex and his husband yesterday. They were very affectionate and considerate. They hve a lovely 5 bedroomed house with huge garden. They have many robots, mainly managed by Alexa, but also a lawn robot that trims each day. I apprecited having an en suite walk-in shower with a Japanese toilet that washes your undercriage with warm water and warmly air dries you with a touch of perfume. I met 3 gay friends of theirs for the first time and it was nice to be hugged and kissed by these strangers on arrival and leaving. Now, in the 3 storey stone house dating from 300 years ago, owned by Anne, the mother of my godsons. We phoned the younger son, who lives close by to carry my heavy luggage to my room upstairs. He only stayed for about 20 minutes but kissed and cuddled me 3 times - nice. He, his wife and young daughter are popping in later today. My older son and 2 sons will arrive on Tuesday to stay until Saturday. My daughter in law has a drink problem and I might see her here on Friday but otherwise when the boys and I arrive on Saturday. My friend Anne's sister is over from Houston, Texas, and I will see her on Friday. So, I'm in for lots of hugs and kisses in the family reunion this week I gparented my godsons, especially after their bio-father left them. The guys still see their dad but are much closer to me. A sidenote, their father was an occasional lover of mine because he wanted to explore his slight attraction to men. Indeed, he did explore with one night stands with men, as well as a number of mistresses. He is now with his 3rd wife, who is much less tolerant of his attraction to marital infidelities.
Ray, I’m glad to hear you’re getting the love and cuddles you need to recover. I feel you about the tender bruises. The area around my eyes and in my forehead are sensitive now. Visually I’m all healed but there’s still some work going on under the hood. Yay for bidet’s and strong young men who can lift suitcases for us. May all your visits continue getting better and better. Wishing you a safe return too…but first: enjoy all the cuddles from your loved ones. Cheers!
Your story sounds all too familiar. I'm sorry you had to go through that, yet again, though in some other way perhaps! I'm sorry for what I'm about to say, but "stiff upper lip" lol! This too shall pass and it sounds like things are heading in a direction that is to your liking!
I also quite enjoyed reading "Navigating Life as an Artist: ..." I so related to this!
Take care and speedy recovery with sweet dreams, Larry xo ( to make it feel better!)
I definitely believe everything happens for a reason, Larry. Luckily only my unstiff lower lip was affected. It’s almost all better now. Just a little lumpy. lol
Ooh Clint big 👥👥 Now put on the fedora chomp on a cigar and act the meanest, toughest hombre on the block to match your sutures/scar looks 😜😎😁 Over here a lot of more minor wounds are closed with self dissolving sutures that come out naturally. When I had a small basel cell carcinoma removed from my temple area I used to joke to others about being Long John Silver or other villains as I couldn't hide the very neat row of stitches. The doctor used to work in facial surgery so her work was delicate and mindful of the end results. I honestly don't know the scar is there. Now keep chipper and it will soon be a distant memory. Hugzz DougT 🇫🇴🇬🇧
Thank you, Doug…I do feel much better and my scarring is so minor I think it’ll fade to nothing sooner than later. Glad you got good care and your war wound faded too. Cheers my dears!
That sucks! You're supposed to get specific aftercare instructions both verbally and in writing. Someone dropped the ball there.
For me the time & energy spent is the big thing. Something didn't go the way it was supposed to. X hours of time & energy are gone and I've gotten no work done, have not caught up on sleep, and I definitely had no R&R. Then there's the carry over consequence that EVERYTHING is pushed back that X number of hours.
Sending healing hugs your way, Anton. Sorry for the delayed reply. I’m finally over the infection and sutures. And move. Now life can get back to some kind of normal. :-)
I never know stitches had to be physically removed. All the ones I've had in the past just fall out on their own when the time was right. Hopefully things get better for ya soon.
Thanks, Jim. These are the first stitches/sutures I’ve ever had. That I know of. Not sure why they chose to used the older tech, but I’m so glad they’re gone. Hope you’re having a good weekend. Cheers!
Thank you, Lee, for sharing your experience. And your service as a nurse and instructor. Infection seems to be gone and the sutures got removed yesterday. So relieved. Though I’m still irritated at how three different medical “professionals” had such varying and vague aftercare instructions. Most of them contradictory. The last guy got an earful when he accused me of not following directions. “Read my fucking chart,” I said. “And take it up with the other doc if you don’t like it.” Tired of being treated like an idiot by egotistical medical folks. I try to be nice, but they tested my patience and got read for filth. Not sure why medical school doesn’t teach better communication skills. But…I’m very grateful things were only mildly bad. Overall, I’m almost healed and only a little irritated. :-p

Thanks and good to know that we are both healing. Large family gathering this week - not biological but strongly loving.
Love is love. Always was. Always will be.
As you well know. 🌈❤️✌️

It's absolutely maddening. I feel your pain.

Same over here in 🇫🇴🇬🇧 Jim. However in 🇺🇸 they usually want to just keep the money coming in from the insurance company 🥺 Cheers DougT
