Most people find their recorded voices strange, the physics of it is that the lower frequencies are amplified by being transmitted by bone to our ear, so what we hear has a greater mix on the bass side (men and women). However, I know I find my recorded voice overpronounced and fussy, like a bad imitation of Vincent Price or something. I can't bear it. So I can easily understand why someone might prefer an AI voice to their own.

Never thought about the actual physics of hearing ourselves. My issue may have more to do with being called a "sissy" so much as a kid (because I was one lol) and the pronounced Southern drawl that still slips in despite moving away over half my life ago. I think "Derek" will fill in for me nicely. I'm not sure everyone would know it wasn't real if I didn't point it out. Or maybe they would. Hard to say anymore. :-)

I would say I did it on purpose, but we know I'm just a typo-ist. :-)

Btw, did you ever see the Jimmy Fallon parody? "Downton Sixbey" is hilarious:

Thank you for that reference. As famous as Downton Abbey is, I just kinda assumed there must be a parody, and I look forward to watching it.

Your contemplation of privileges for paying viewers and the undesired consequences of imposing paywalls is entirely appropriate. Numbers of views and nice words do not pay the expenses, so sometimes hard decisions must be made. As for me, I think I am getting very much my money's worth and have been looking at upgrading to founding member status quite seriously. There you have the nice words; now I should actually make the money move. Best wishes.

You're a sweetheart, Sam! If you enjoy the parody, there is a Part II that slays as well. I don't know if they made any more. No pressure on the upgrade...I had removed it but a generous patron asked me to add it back. So who am I to refuse the kindness? Cheers to you and yours.

Thanks, Bobby! I think he and I are gonna become good friends. Though I do need to train him how to pronounce Collide correctly. CO-LIDE ain't a-working for me. :-)
