Today is my last day of "middle-age". I turn 60 tomorrow.
I have to move on to that "next box" on surveys as "45-59" ain't it any longer. Tomorrow it will be "60+".
I should be happy I'm in good health as so many of my friends I buried before they turned 50, some didn't make 30 back in the '80s.
But here I am, in existential crisis.
I didn't mind 30, or 40. 50 was the "crisis" year for me. Quit the job, sold the house, gave away the car.
Now, it's: "Well you knew it was going to be like this. You're going to be alone."
And that's OK. I've been alone most of my life. But you all know the drill. The second-looks on the street stopped long ago (even though I'm in good shape still).
Happy Belated Bday, Loh! And my existential crisis sees your existential crisis. Mine seem to happen annually now, usually right around my bday. Fellow Leos…UNITE! :-)
Bravo to the updated and improved you. I was up in the air for your birthday travelling back to the Uk. (It isn't something for distress or concern but I fell backwords on an up escalator and lacerated the back of my scalp, my left forearm, my left calf., chewed up by the teeth on each step. The airline owners of the airport in Dubai covered their ass and gave me free paramed, medical treatment and a new shirt because of my bloody shirt. An old man - me - was shaken and slightly stirred but I am not seriously wounded)
So with time zones that is why you receive belated bestest of loving wishes for you from an extra parental figure. I am so proud of you and delighted to know you.
Thank you, sweetheart, for your healing best wishes. My lacerations are dry and still healing now. I lost my facemask in the accident so I got a cold from my 2nd flight. All minor stuff.
Carry on carrying on, dear. Love from "Uncle" Ray xxx
Heal on, Uncle! I followed your lead last night and ended up in the ER with a banged-up nose and busted lip. Fun stuff. I do not recommend. Also, ironically, I’m recovering from allergies/congestion too. Must run in the “family.” Hang tough and rest well, dear one. :-*
Mine has been constantly dripping and sneezing for past 3 days. Cold going south via sexy deep voice to my chest. If it develops into bacterial bonchitis then I brought antibiotics from Thailand. Love you, boo.
Fingers crossed those antibiotics aren’t necessary, dear one. But glad you have them just in case. Hope you’re able to enjoy your visit with nears and dears. Love and light to you, Uncle Ray!
Happy Birthday. The French say Happy Anniversary (well they actually say it in French) because you have only one actual Birth Day. The rest are anniversaries of that momentous day. With your attitude, every such ‘anniversary’ will be good ones. Love your posts, they brighten my day.

I'll be fine.
Hopefully I'll be bitching about turning 90.

Sorry I missed the day! Happy Birthday belatedly. Mine is the 12th, so we're both July babies.
No worries…happily belated birthday to you, David!
I hope it was a very happy natal return...and that you have many more, with abundant good snacks to fuel the journey!! 🥳❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🥳
Thanks, Keith. Snacks? I’ve rarely met one I didn’t love. Cheers!

Yes, dear. Noses do seem to run in families.

An unnecessary detail about cloudy or coloured sputum has prompted me to start my antibiotics.
I think that it is Thai culture that makes me think of you as a nephew-type person. "Friend" feels warmer, perhaps.
Happy Birthday and thanks for giving your readers the gift of your articles.
Thank you so much. I appreciate you and your words of encouragement!
Happy Birthday my friend. Hope you have had an amazing day just as you wanted. Many more years ahead. Much love 🧡💛🤎💯

Much appreciated, Walt. I like this way of thinking almost as much as I love French fries. Thanks for brightening my day. Cheers!
Happy birthday, young fella.
Much appreciated, dear Clarke!
Hey you, where's your name in the list of famous birthday guys??? Happy #53, Clint. Here's to many, many more.
Thanks, Dennis. I prefer collecting the list than being on it. But appreciate you and your sweet comment. Cheers!
Happy Birthday, Clint! Is anyone ready to sing "We love you, Clinton" with me from the tune from Bye-Bye, Birdie? An who wants to be Ann-Margret?
