Just curious. Have you completely stopped putting classic nudes on BlueSky? I haven't seen any update in a long time. With your move and all, perhaps new stuff has just been put on the back burner so to speak, but I thought I'd ask.
Hi, David. Great question: Now that the move is completely done—and I’m slowly but surely decorating and unpacking—I plan to start posting more consistently on BlueSky. Likely this weekend of early next week. Cheers and thanks for your patience!
I'm pleased with the telling of how you came to appreciate art and the various nuances that you noticed as time went on and how much you identified with it by way of the introduction of Andy Warhol in your life. A coming of age, if you will, that informs your life to this day! Beautiful Man!!!
I’m pleased to read your comment, Larry. Today, I have much more complicated feelings about Warhol’s legacy, but I’m still grateful to him for opening that door for me. Cheers!
Thanks Clint and Andy Warhol, An Art Hero. IIRC from Warhol (1989) by his friend, art critic David Bourdon I probably read UltraViolet's book too, but the one I remember was Superstar, by Viva, because my grandmother loved it as much as I did.. “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” YES. 🖤🤎💜💙💚💛🧡❤🏳🌈🌈
I met Andy Warhol at Studio 54 years ago. I was warned to stay away from him because he was a sick pervert that had no moral values and loved destroying peoples lives. He was not a creative artist ( as stated by his contemporaries ) and delighted in voyeurism. All in all an over rated guy devoid of real talent.
I’m sure I wouldn’t have liked him much in person, but I do appreciate some of his art—and the motley crew of misfits who surrounded him. Having met and worked with Holly Woodlawn, I can see a certain value in his work (at least in the pre-shooting years) that many people might miss. As for “real” talent, there’s no single definition. So please be kind…or rewind elsewhere. Art is subjective, so “real” talent is in the eye of the beholder.
Hmmm ok Clint I'll not fight you for Andy W attentions, guess I'm not just camp 🌈 (after all I'm a str8 gay man) enough to appreciate him overall 😲 However I'm in awe of some off the Holidays + Observances you featured today, more so the National Wiggle Your Toes Day, in fact I'm wiggling right now, both feet too, I must be toe ambidextrous 😉😎😁 I hope the lips infections are responding to the meds. Cheers from your str8ish gay DougT 🇫🇴🇬🇧
