Most mornings, I jump out of bed ready to write.
Today wasn’t one of those mornings.
Instead, I let myself slow down. I treated myself to a Sausage McMuffin® with Egg from McDonald’s—because sometimes “brekkie” is best when someone else makes it—before spending over an hour reading on the patio…before the sun burned through the clouds. No guilt, no rush.
The rest of the day looks like a mixed bag, which feels just right.
I definitely will be doing more reading.
I probably will do some photo scanning.
I may go see some art or watch a movie.
The beauty of today is that it’s wide open. No deadlines to meet, no people I have to see, no places I have to rush off to. Just time…mine, mine, mine. The world feels like my oyster. And I get to decide how—or even if—I want to serve it.
Keep calm and read on!
