Back in the day I built a plywood based mattress support which is like sleeping on the floor. I suggest you might like that better than box springs and can be chair height with the mattress on it.
Glad you are sleeping better. My mattress is on a steel platform and I sleep well. Problem is that the bed is so low to the floor that my housekeeper cannot catch the dust bunnies that run around under it! Fondly, Michael
A steel platform sounds like a good solution. Anything with slats ends up bugging me. Probably because I’m carrying more weight than I’d like to admit. But good sleep always helps me lose weight. More rest leads to more activity. Cheers, Michael!
Ohhh Clint I know the bad (lower) back syndrome all too well. I was never troubled with bad back issues until late in the COVID years. The inactivity, no swimming etc, lockdowns that when I did get mobile again my lower back, hips just went into spasms. Only one physio understood it wasn't 'core strength' issues and he treated my issues. Sadly he was employed in a charitable mode and once initial treatment finished he wasn't able to see me privately. Luckily the back issues are a lot better and when it flairs up again I rest up for a couple days. It's a barsteward getting old 😏 I couldn't sleep on the floor on a mattress as I wouldn't be able to get up off the floor 😯 Enough now of my issues, still I can smile about it. Cheers DougT 🏴🇬🇧
Oh, I definitely feel your pain, Doug. I had a childhood injury to my lower back and it flares up every now and then. As hard as it is to get off the ground, I’m glad I can do it at the moment, until the box springs raises the mattress up a bit. But, for me, lower is better. Probably doesn’t help I’m carrying way too much weight at the moment. So I try to think of my struggle to get up as a form of exercise. I’m definitely using some muscles I don’t use a lot. :-p
