“November Air” by Zach Bryan
Lyrics
Happy November. There’s definitely a chill in the air.
I woke up with a bit of a sore throat—from snoring one too many logs—wrapped snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug like a burrito. I made myself a spot of tea to help soothe my throat and to help me warm up.
I might fire up the heater, but I’m in denial: How is it November already?
Also, how have I never heard of “November Air” or Zach Bryan before?
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Bryan has sold 30M albums and singles since his 2019 debut, “DeAnn.”
Safe to say, I don’t keep up with popular music. But this country-folk song and its hunky, sailor-singer-songwriter have me feeling all warm and fuzzy this morning.
From what I’ve read about Mr. Bryan, there’s a chance I wouldn’t like him in person, but from afar, his music—and looks—fit my November mood perfectly.
Something else fitting my mood: the Substack app (available for Android and iOS) is gaining traction and usability. Team Substack is working hard to add features and squash bugs to improve the user experience.
According to Substack’s co-founder Hamish McKenzie, the app is now “the most powerful growth machine for creators.” And based on my own experience, he’s not being hyperbolic.
To encourage more people to try the app, Substack is sending select free subscribers complimentary one-month gift subscriptions.
While I don’t have any say in who gets the offer, if you receive an email, please consider redeeming it. This offer is fully-funded by Substack and helps support independent creators like myself grow (and pay the heating bill).
Stay warm and fuzzy…thanks for reading and subscribing!
Clint

PHOTO + QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Diversity...is not casual liberal tolerance of anything not yourself. It is not polite accommodation. Instead, diversity is, in action, the sometimes painful awareness that other people, other races, other voices, other habits of mind have as much integrity of being, as much claim on the world as you do... And I urge you, amid all the differences present to the eye and mind, to reach out to create the bond that...will protect us all. We are all meant to be here together.”

Chase in 1903: Oh yes, back when tech was evolving rapidly and the Zeitgeist was to foster greater international cooperation and trade. There were a number of artifical languages and interlanguages being created/tried out. All was well (comparatively) until 1914. Afterward things looked up again until the stockmarket crash, the war again....and so the cycle continues.
Pride weekend in Palm Springs and we're holding on to a little heat at 75+ degrees. Where are you?!
